Here's how to put my blog entries on your friends page: Go to this page and click on "add this user". Basically all it does is feed my blog entries onto your page, nothing else, since that isn't a LJ "account". That way you know when I've updated my site without having to check another website. :)

Date: 2008-01-07 03:31 am (UTC)We usually use the NIV for our family/personal devotions... We don't use a different OT translation, though Joshua does have a translation that is only of the five books of Moses, and I know he enjoys that one... but we haven't read much of it together. :)
I've heard of the Karaites, but that's about it. :)

Date: 2008-01-07 03:45 am (UTC)On top of that, every Jew I ask tells me they are not awaiting a savior for their sins. They're looking for political aid or an age of peace. Even the wikipedia entry on the Jewish Messiah doesn't say anything about a savior for sins.
It feels like there is a huge disconnect between the historic Judaism that Christianity is connected to versus the Judaism that exists today.
What's your perspective on this?

I imagine anyone on the "outside" could say the same thing about New Testament believers vs. the church(es) we have today... :(
